For their last lecture of the year, ADFAS Noosa have organized one of the world’s leading experts to give a talk on the conservation of the historic huts of the explorers, particularly Scott and Shackleton.

Julian has been the technical conservation advisor for the Antarctic Heritage Trust of NZ’s long term program on these huts and his talk will describe the challenges of conserving artifacts in Antarctica within the context of the extraordinary stories of this heroic era of exploration.

Julian Bickersteth has impressive credentials for conservation. President of ADFAS nationally, Vice President of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works and President of the International Polar Heritage Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites.

This lecture will be at a reduced price for non members of $10 as it precedes the extremely short AGM. Xmas drinks and nibbles are included.

The talks are held at 3.45 pm for 4 pm at St Mary’s Church, 17 William Street in Tewantin.
