What happens when you mix together band members that have a rich background in the music industry? You get a band that is so good it should be illegal – Contraband!
Leah Russ who toured with the The Kooltones 60′s show is on lead vocals with a dynamic rich RnB sound that impresses everyone who hears her. Ben Richards on vocals and lead guitar heralds from Industry of Kool and Stevenson Street. Putting the rhythm into the band on bass and backing harmonies is Dave Evans from Morris and the Minors and Urban Hombres and Mark O’Bryen on drums from Smokin Mirrors and Shrinking Violets.
Put them together and you get the ultimate party band covering artists like Florence and the Machine, Pink, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Duffy, Alanis Morrisette and The White Stripes plus lots of classic top 40 rock. The entire repertoire is focussed on getting the party started and keeping it going.
This home-grown, Sunshine Coast band performs for weddings, formal functions and private parties as well as playing at some of the largest clubs in Queensland. They always deliver the ultimate night of entertainment and have a fan base that grows exponentially with each gig.
