Register by 11.am for a chance at glory. Local bands showcasing their original art, there will be a BBQ & the aquatic centre will be opened.

Converge is a Sunshine Coast Council event for young people & their families & is part of the National Youth Week.

The event is drug & alcohol free.

Register by 11am to be part of the skating comps and be in the running to win wicked prizes. The five skating competition heats include; Best Vert, Best Street, Best Girls, Best Boys, and Best Under 12s.

Be there between 12pm and 4pm and listen to local youth bands performing live including- Andrew Redford, Alex Pink Band, The Marsdenlees, The One Two, Fifth Man, Adonis & Vagrant City Scandal.

Create a stencil for your board, enjoy the BBQ or cool off with a swim at the Noosa Aquatic Centre next door.

CONVERGE is a Sunshine Coast Council National Youth Week event for young people and their families held at the Skate Park Sunshine Beach, next to the Noosa Aquatic Centre on Giraween Court. It is drug and alcohol free.



20 March 2009 Bands line up for Youth Week

The musical line up for CONVERGE, the Sunshine Coast's National Youth Week event, has been announced and features seven bands of 21 local musicians aged between 15 and 21.

CONVERGE is a free music and skate event being held on Saturday 28 March, showcasing local youth bands and coinciding with a free youth skate competition at Sunshine Beach Sk8 Park, 6 Giraween Court Sunshine Beach between 12pm and 4pm.

Artists will be on hand to help produce stencil art for skateboards, there will be a BBQ and the Noosa Aquatic Centre next door to the park will be open. The event is for young people and their families and is drug and alcohol free.

The skating competition is open to anyone aged up to 25 years of age and you need to be registered by 11am to enter. Heats include; Best Vert, Best Street, Best Girls, Best Boys, and Best Under 12s.

The musical line up includes; Andrew Redford, Alex Pink Band, The Marsdenlees, The One Two, Fifth Man, Adonis and Vagrant City Scandal.

The bands are all Sunshine Coast based from: Maroochydore, Tewantin, Sunrise Beach, Marcus Beach, Coolum Beach, Marcoola, Noosa, Doonan, Mooloolah, Sippy Downs and Little Mountain.
