🌿 A day out in the country foraging for, cooking with + eating beautiful indigenous bushtucker. Enjoy a day out in the country gathering bushfoods right off the trees and foraging for other edible plants; cooking with them to create truly unique, nutritious and delicious sweet and savoury dishes, sitting by the fire to enjoy the gourmet feast, chatting and relaxing. An experience unlike any other!
WHO IS THIS FOR? Teens + adults interested in bushfoods, wild edible plants and healthy cooking.
INGREDIENTS WE'LL BE USING Bushtucker and wild edible plants we may gather and use include: - lilly pilly - native plums - nettle + other wild greens - warrigal greens - tamarind - finger limes - dooja limes - leaves of various myrtle species - native ginger root + berries - various other seasonal fruits Other indigenous and regular ingredients included to create gourmet dishes: - bunya nuts - paperbark - kangaroo, organic chicken + wild-caught fish - native pepperberry and salt - dried native fruits - macadamia nuts and oil - wattleseed + other herbs/spices - green banana flour - coconut-based ingredients - pure grass-fed gelatin - local raw honey - chia seeds + lots more! Many of the ingredients can be easily sourced online, at health food stores and in some supermarkets, meaning you can replicate the recipes at home, or change them to suit your tastes and available ingredients. All the plants we forage from grow easily in SEQ and can be purchased from local native nurseries or online. Food and drink recipes are free from gluten, grains, animal milks, modern legumes and refined sugar.
COST TO ATTEND Single: $95 pp Two or more: $85 pp* *Must be under the one booking and is for maximum 6 people in the one booking, subject to availability. Spaces are strictly limited to 10 guests. Currently 10 spaces are available. Bookings are essential and full payment is required by Wed 27 March 2019.
