Cooroy and Pomona businesses will come together on Tuesday to plan how the towns can get back on their feet after recent storms and flash flooding that devastated the area.
Cooroy Chamber of Commerce, supported by Sunshine Coast Council, will host a meeting at Cooroy Bowls Club on Tuesday March 13 for local business owners, managers and workers to discuss issues they face following the devastation, and opportunities to help the towns move forward.
The evening aims to come up with activities and strategies to support Cooroy and Pomona businesses affected by the storms and better promote the area in the future.
Cooroy Chamber of Commerce president Seb Vecchio said the meeting would be a good opportunity for all business people to discuss positive ways for the towns to move forward.
“Our business people in Cooroy are a resilient group and what we’ve come through in the past few weeks just confirms it,” Mr Vecchio said. “This meeting will be a good chance for all Cooroy and Pomona businesses to come together to firstly reflect on what we’ve been through and to look at what needs to be done for the future.”
Mr Vecchio encouraged all businesses to share their views at the meeting for the benefit of all.
Businesses can access information on the community response initiative through the Cooroy Chamber of Commerce website at www.cooroy.com.au
Anyone unable to attend the workshop and focus group is invited to complete the online survey.
