Interested Cooroy residents are invited to a meeting on Wednesday, February 11th to help form a Community Committee, with the aim of completing the district's proposed Youth Centre.
Local Councillors Ray Kelly, Brian Lindfield and Lew Brennan are urging members of the Cooroy community to attend the gathering at 5.45 pm at the Car Club building in the Cooroy Sporting Complex.
Cr. Kelly explains that the aim of the meeting is to form a Community Committee for the purposes of achieving the completion of the proposed Youth Centre Building known as "Dwyer House" and to determine a suitable management structure for the Centre.
"An old Works building was donated by Council in 2000 for relocation to the Cooroy Sporting Complex," said Cr. Kelly, "and to date with the generous support of the Jupiter's Casino Community Benefit Fund and the Cooroy Sporting Complex a considerable amount of work has been done to develop it as a youth centre. However, we need a combined and concerted effort from all sections of the community to complete the final stages of the building so it may properly fill that role. If you care about Cooroy and its youth, please roll up on February 11th and help us to get the project on the road to completion."
