Cotton on to Tai Chi
Discover a healthier you by signing up for FREE Tai Chi in the Park at Cotton Tree Park, The Esplanade, Maroochydore.
Maroochy Shire Council is pleased to sponsor free Tai Chi in Cotton Tree Park (next to the War Memorial) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for 12 weeks commencing on Monday 7 February 2005.
Come along at 6.00am for an hour of Chi Gung with instructor Anthony Britten of Osan Martial Arts. Anthony will be teaching the slow, soft, graceful motions of Chi Gung.
Tai Chi is based on martial arts movements whereas Chi Gung is based on simple physical motions concentrating on internal breathing exercises and meditation techniques.
You will need to wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat-soled shoes, or just go bare foot and feel the grass between your toes.
Mayor Joe Natoli said creating the opportunity to practice Tai Chi in one of our beautiful Maroochy parks will benefit the community's health, cultural wealth, networks and also raise awareness of Tai Chi and its benefits.
