Noosa has the distinction of hosting the first graduations under Central Queensland University's new name - CQUniversity Australia.
The name change will be launched during a 12.30pm function at the University's Goodchap Street facility on the same day as the Noosa graduations (Tuesday, July 1).
The graduation ceremonies - at 3pm and 6pm - will be held at the Australis Noosa Lakes in Noosaville, with 57 graduates attending during the afternoon and 33 in the evening.
The Chancellor Rennie Fritschy and Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard will officiate at both ceremonies.
Sunshine Coast Regional Councillor Lew Brennan is guest speaker for the afternoon event, while Jenny McDonald - the Chief Executive Officer of Nambour Selangor and Caloundra Private Hospitals - is guest speaker in the evening.
CQUniversity will confer the Honorary Award of Companion of the University on Councillor Lew Brennan and also Rob McAlpine, the Acting Regional Executive Director (Sunshine Coast region) for Education Queensland .
Delivering the closing addresses on behalf of the graduates will be Brigitte Kath (3pm) and Carlie Nicholls (6pm).
Donna Car will receive the Faculty of Education and Creative Arts Prize during the afternoon ceremony.
