The Crazy John's Queensland Championships remains the pinnacle event on the Queensland Surf Sports Calendar. Contested over four days, the program will kick start with masters events on Thursday 26th February 2009 with open events to start on Friday 27th February 2008. More than 2,500 competitors aged 14 years through to masters are expected to line up over the four days and contest more than 270 traditional Surf Sports events. Events to be contested will be board races, ski races, beach events, surf boats, R&R, belt races, surf races, ironperson and the iconic Surf Life Saving event, the march past.
Surf Life Saving Champions past and present from throughout Queensland will be testing their beach and water skills at Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast at the Crazy John's Queensland State Championships.
Athletes competing in categories U15, U17, U19, Open and Masters will represent their clubs from as far North as Cairns down to Rainbow Bay at the Southern tip of Queensland over the four day championships. Events to be contested will be board races, ski races, beach events, surf boats, R&R, belt races, surf races, ironperson and the iconic Surf Life Saving event, the march past.
