"She was a long forgotten ship, very aged, very weathered and almost completely buried ... The two sealers struggled on and left the wreck to the wind and sand, and to the silent voices whispering through her battered timbers."
A secret hidden for centuries beneath the dunes, and one old man's quest for the truth.
This novel is based on tales of the sighting of the ship wreck of a Mahogany ship off the Victorian Coast near Warrnambool in 1836 by a party of three whalers from Port Fairy. For over a century and a half the mystery of this ship has captured the imagination of Australians. This fascination is largely because the existence of such a vessel could throw a different light on the earliest phases of exploration of the eastern seaboard of Australia by Europeans.
Peter Mulready served for eight years in the Royal Australian Navy before pursuing a corporate and business career. Come and hear the author talk about his latest novel, the topic of which sparked interest in him as a child.
