Compassion for the people we know and love; our family and friends is easy, but if we can learn to develop compassion for strangers and even our enemies, the effect on our lives is profound. Scientific studies suggest that there are even physical benefits to practicing compassion. Over this weekend discover with Venerable Robina how it is possible to develop the compassion of a bodhisattva: the enthusiasm and confidence to never give up working to help others. Venerable Robina has been a Buddhist nun for 34 years and is renowned throughout the world for her unique way of teaching. Born in Australia, an award-winning film, Chasing Buddha, documents her life and includes her work the Liberation Prison Project. She is one of the subjects of an ABC Television Australian Story, Vicki Mackenzie's Why Buddhism? and a film by Christine Lundberg, On the Road Home.
