Currimundi Catchment Care Group is participating in the Sunshine Coast Wildflower Festival again this year and will conduct a walk through Kawana Forest on Sunday August 24th.
Following the success of last year's tour through this beautiful area, members will take a guided walk from 10am to 11am to point out some of the special features of this reserved forest section.
Kawana Forest offers a slow roam through Melaleuca Wetlands (paperbark trees) to Wet Sclerophyll Forest (rainforest with Eucalypt species in the canopy) and out to Eucalyptis Grandis (tall gum trees in grassy areas).
If you are interested in taking this walk, please meet members at Kawana Forest Park beside Lillypilly Court, Meridan Plains (Kawana Forest).
Bring insect repellant and enclosed shoes as this is a wetland area.
For further information, ring Jenny on 54939695.
The walk is well worth it!
