With only weeks remaining until we hear whether our de-amalgamation submission has succeeded and we move to the next step in this arduous journey, areferendum enabling Noosa voters to once and for all to declare their support for the return of our council, ‘Free Noosa’ is conducting a series of information nights to update everyone on where we are today, what lies ahead and to answer general questions.

The dates for these meetings are;

Thursday 25 October at the Cooroy CWA Hall Maple St.Cooroy at 7:00PM.
Wednesday 31 October at the Auditorium, Christian Outreach Centre Noosaville at 7:00PM
Saturday 3 November at the Pomona Memorial School of Arts Hall Pomona at 10:00AM.

Over the past few weeks Friends of Noosa have been bombarded with questions about our de-amalgamation progress and the submission made to the State Government enabling us along with four other former shires to move one step closer to our ultimate goal of re-establishing the Noosa Council. As there has been a lot of miss-information bandied around the community, some of it deliberate, it’s really important that you come along and hear for yourself what has transpired so far and what the next step will be.

It’s also your opportunity to ask questions, make suggestions and seek clarification on any issues relating to the de-amalgamation process and the size and shape of our new council.

Although we have held similar forums late last year,much has occurred over the past 12 months so don’t miss this opportunity to be brought up to scratch and to make your contribution to the debate.

Everything will move very quickly once the minister receives recommendations from the Boundaries Commissioner on the 29th of November, so it’s essential we get your input now so your views can be considered while there is still time.

Just a reminder, ‘Free Noosa’ bumper stickers are still available at Café Le Monde Hastings Street.
