Di Fingleton tells her story at Sunshine Coast Libraries
Former State Chief Magistrate, Di Fingleton will visit Caloundra and Maroochydore Libraries next week to discuss her new book Nothing to do with Justice: The Di Fingleton Story.
The new book reveals Di's incredible and shocking ordeal. It's revelatory, it's powerful and it may change how you see the world forever.
Di was Queensland's first female Chief Magistrate, but in 2002 she also became the first Australian Chief Magistrate to be sentenced to prison. She was charged under a criminal code in a disagreement over conditions of employment and sentenced to 12 months.
At Caloundra Library on 8 December and Maroochydore Library on 10 December, Di will discuss her stranger than fiction story which saw her stripped of her belongings and her dignity when she was locked up and forced to live as a prisoner, while the media publicly tore her character apart. It was only when Di went to the High Court of Australia that justice prevailed.
Attendance is free, however bookings are essential. More information is available at the Sunshine Coast Libraries website: www.library.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au
