Sunshine Coast Crime Prevention Unit, Beerwah Neighbourhood Watch and Beerwah Police are excited to launch Dogs on Patrol for the Sunshine Coast hinterland townships.

Dogs on Patrol encourages dog owners to stay safe while walking their beloved pets and also to report any suspicious or criminal activity.

Community safety and crime prevention is everyone’s responsibility and you can help by being our extra eyes and ears on the streets of your town.

Police can’t be everywhere all the time, so we rely on community members to be on the lookout and who better to enlist then dog owners who are out and about every day, walking the streets with their pooch.

Dog owners are encouraged to bring their dogs to the launch and receive a free Dogs on Patrol dog leash (as modelled by the dashing doggy duo below).

Prizes to be won in a number of categories including “Best Dressed Dog”.

There will also be displays and demonstrations throughout the morning from Neighbourhood Watch, Crime Stoppers, Sunshine Coast Council, Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge and more.

Sausage sizzle, coffee and ice cream vans will also be on site to ensure the hoomans are fed.
