Making one’s own jewellery is always rewarding! It can be an
expression of one’s own personality, of the heart, to keep or to give as
a personal gift.
A workshop to create Ceramic Jewellery is being offered at the Harbourside Gallery, Noosa Marina, Tewantin. Tutor, Ellen Appleby explains that the workshop is an exploration of surface decoration on small clay objects that can be made into jewellery. It will use inlay and printmaking techniques using diferent coloured clays, underglazes and slips. Pendants, brooches, earrings, buttons and rings can be made.
The techniques are simple and use easily obtained equipment and materials. All materials and firing (except jewellery findings) are supplied, and the fired ceramic pieces can be collected from the Harbourside Gallery on Sunday 22nd January.
Ellen Appleby is a Noosa-based ceramic artist who has a Diploma in Ceramics from Sunshine Coast Institute of Technology and is one of the exhibiting artists at the Harbourside Gallery.
The Gallery is a co-operative supporting local artists in Noosa and close environs. It is open every day from 10 am to 4 pm.
This workshop is suitable for Adults and children older than 9 years old.
