Endeavour makes $700,000 dream come true

Capalaba locals Julie and Bill liked to look through Endeavour Prize Home brochures and dream of winning one of the luxurious mansions.  Never expecting to win, however, they settled for taking decorating tips from the picture-filled brochures.

So when on 8 March Julie received a phone call from Endeavour's Prize Home Manager Wilma Burton saying she'd just won a 4-bedroom home in Buderim worth over $700,00, Julie was understandably surprised.

"I kept saying, 'Is this real?!' - I just couldn't believe it."

"I know it's a cliché," added Julie's partner Bill. "But you always think it's not going to happen to you, but sometimes it does - and it changes your life!"

Julie and Bill have been aware of Endeavour and the work they do with people with a disability for many years, and have been buying tickets since 1993.

"It just goes to show that long-term support of Endeavour pays off big time!' said Bill.  "It's just really good to know that while we are going into the draw to win a Prize Home, we are also helping Endeavour provide support to people with a disability."

Julie and Bill, who immigrated to Australia from England 15 years ago and recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, have told their families back in Europe about their good fortune.

"Everyone is so happy for us - the news has spread around London, Paris and Spain like wildfire," said Bill.

"My family were hoping my luck would spread," said Julie.  "They asked me to pick the lotto numbers for them for last Saturday night."
