Winning Endeavour Prize Home too good to be true?

Theresa and Paul Weber from Joyner in north Brisbane were dubious when they received the phone call telling them they'd won an Endeavour Prize Home valued at over $800,000.

After a few follow-up calls, however, the reality sunk in and Theresa officially received the keys to her brand new Wellington Point home on Thursday 24 May.

"We're still in shock," said Theresa.

Theresa and Paul, who have two boys, have been buying Endeavour Prize Home tickets for over 10 years.  They even became Automatic Purchaser (AP) Club members to ensure they never accidentally missed out on a ticket.

"The AP Club is great because I have such a bad memory.  It's good to know if I forget to buy a ticket I'm automatically in the draw, and never miss out on a chance to win," she said.

As with many Endeavour Prize Home ticket buyers, Theresa never actually expected to win the house.  She was content to know she was contributing to a good cause.

"I know the Endeavour Foundation does a great job for people with a disability because my uncle used to work as a supported employee at an Endeavour Business Service."

"I feel a bit guilty because over 10 years I have only spent around $1,000 on tickets, but now I've won the $800,000 house, so Endeavour has given me more than I've given them!"

The Weber family are understandably delighted with the luxurious new fully furnished home with views over Moreton Bay and 12 months worth of free rates.

"It's just beautiful," said Theresa.

"It looks like a resort.  I love the front entrance which leads to a lovely staircase.  I also love the built-in coffee machine and the fact that there is so much storage space (the home must have been designed by a woman!).  I recommend that everyone buys a ticket in the Endeavour Prize Home lottery. If I can win, anyone can!"
