Coast councils will combine in an effort to inform builders and developers on the consequences of ineffective erosion control at the Erosion and Sediment Control Field Day at the Maroochy Show Ground (old Nambour Show Ground) on October 17th from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Building industry and local government staff are encouraged to attend and learn about sediment control products and how their correct installation can achieve healthier waterways while saving time and money.
The field day will stage working displays and a series of specialist presentations from 1:20 pm to 3:00 pm on:
• Soil types
• Erosion and sediment site controls
Council's representative on Noosa's Stormwater Quality Working group Cr Peter McGregor said, "we are urging builders, developers and earth moving contractors to come along so they can see what is available to help members of their industry to meet their sediment and erosion control obligations.
"Most industry members in Noosa are very responsible people who are just as keen as Council to help protect our waterways."
For more information about the field day please contact the Environmental Health Section on 54 495 232.
Sponsored by Caloundra, Noosa and Maroochy Councils.
