The Eumundi Food Fest is held each year in June. A celebration of top quality local food, wine and entertainment.

Let your senses spin - food, wine, sights and sounds to delight the entire family.

Farmer's Market will display and sell fresh local produce direct from grower and producers to you. Fine foods on display from the Hinterland include rainforest products, cheeses, herbal teas, organic produce, processed coffees, curry pastes and condiments, nougat to name a few.

The Tucker Tent will host various presenters throughout the day, such as the award winning, Martha Shepherd from Galeru rainforest products and Donalee Halkett author of 'Snack it out' a book on healthy snacks for children and adults.

Food to Go provides a great variety of takeaway foodies' delights. Tapas style allows you to experience multiple tastes. Design your own picnic. 

Try before you buy, wine tasting of quality Sunshine Coast  wines. A rare opportunity to meet and talk with the producer.

Listen to some great local musicians as well as vivacious women's choir, 20 Acre Voices, so named for the carrying power of their voices and harmonies.

Work off some kilojoules and have fun at the same time, climb the mobile rock wall. Finish off with a lollop along on a camel.

Eumundi Food Fest & CD Launch - Thurs 25 May

As a taste of the Eumundi Food Fest (held each year in June) a public and media launch will be held in Eumundi on Thursday May 25, from 4pm. A celebration of top quality local food, wine and entertainment. This event is part of Tourism Noosa's regional promotion 'Mayfiesta'.

From 4pm a mini market will be setup behind Eats restaurant, with food stalls, displays, free tastings and street entertainment. Entry is free. Fine foods on display from the Hinterland include Galeru bushfoods, Cooroy Mountain Spring Water, Noosa Reds gourmet tomatoes, Kin Kin herbal teas, Eumundi Meats - hormone free and organic, Garnisha curry pastes and condiments, Australian Nougat company, Snack it Out - healthy snack ideas, Maroochy Springs Wines plus displays of fresh local fruit and vegetables including Rhonda Hammer with organic produce.

Pick up a bargain at the charity auction of quality items including local art, wine, dining vouchers and accommodation. Part proceeds from this auction will go towards buying equipment for the Eumundi Arthouse (a building now near completion for Eumundi State School and community use). Fabulous Sunshine Coast Band Mettaphor will launch their latest CD and play live. Check them out at

A long table dinner will then be held in Eats restaurant from 6pm at $45 per head, a 3 course

'taste of the Eumundi Food Fest'. 'Eats' head chef Patrick Landelle (ex Soleil) will use the best and freshest of local product to create a memorable dining experience. The price also includes a glass of fine Maroochy Springs wine and a copy of Mettaphor's CD. Mettaphor will play live throughout the evening.

An area of the restaurant will be set aside for 'Methapphor' music lovers to dine rom a tapas menu.

All new sound for the ever evolving 'Mettaphor'

Thursday 25 May will see the launch of fabulous Sunshine Coast Band, Mettaphor's latest CD. This is your chance to see them play live for free and pick up a copy hot off the press! Hear them at the Eumundi Food Fest Launch behind Eats restaurant in Eumundi from 4pm.

In 2005 the trio built a recording studio & jumped on the opportunity to 'embrace technology' and create their own sound - the ultimate chance to take the music to the place they could only hear in their heads - hello laptop enter loopznbeatz and lush production!

'Mettaphor' are one of those unique acts who have struck the motherload by tapping into the soul music revolution - 'sensual, jazzy, funk for salvation'!

Angelika Heinrich takes on the frontline to rapturous reviews - there are few women on the Australian music scene who can sing like an angel, play saxophone & look like a super hero from an action movie! Kaeleen Hunter drives the band on guitar, vocals and earns the title of  mastermind behind the ever evolving sound, songwriting and production of 'Mettaphor'.

With the most 'wanted' Mr funkmeister Samuel Benge on 6 string bass and with a degree in classical performance - he knows no limits when it comes to groove and melodic twists.

Maroochy Springs Wines at Eats Restaurant

Jack and Margaret Connolly from Maroochy Springs Winery will be on hand at the Eumundi Food Fest Launch with a display and samples of their fine wines. A glass of their wine will also be included in the Long Table Dinner to follow the launch at 6pm.

A boutique winery, most of their wines are sold directly to the public. They aslo supply four Sunshine Coast restaurants and two hotels. Most Saturdays and Wednesdays (market days in Eumundi) sees Jack working his way among lunchtime diners offering wine tastings and sales in Eats restaurant in Eumundi.

The Connolly's planted their first vines on their property in Eerwah Vale near Eumundi in 2001 and decided to grown their Chambourcin grapes biodynamically working with no harsh chemicals, using only natural fertilisers and weed control methods.

They have 4 springs on their property which form the head waters of the North Maroochy river and they decided on this approach to lessen the environmental impact on this important river system. They treat the whole property as a living organism and are very interested in the preservation and sustainability of the land.

These careful agricultural practices plus the production methods used in creating the finished product produce a wine is much lower in chemicals and preservatives with the added bonus of fewer headaches and allergies for consumers! Come, try and see for yourself.
