'Music Industry Careers and Information Day Explodes on the Sunshine Coast'
EXPLODE 2005 is the Sunshine Coasts second music industry careers and information day. EXPLODE will be held during the Sun Skills EXPO on Tuesday 26th July from 10am until 4pm at the Nambour TAFE campus.
During EXPLODE young musicians will be able to access high level music industry professionals and organizations such as AIR (Association of Independent Records), APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) and Q Music.
TAFE teachers will be there to provide information about their music courses Certificate III in Music (Performing) and Certificate III in Music (Technical Production) and council representatives will be available to give advise on how to get a RADF grant.
EXPLODE will also host a forum between 2pm until 4pm. A panel of music industry professionals will offer advice and answer your concerns about your career in the music industry. The panel will include Peter Koppes, from the band The Church, Jay Bishop from Legend Promotions, Eliza Hall from Tsunami Magazine and Ant McKenna from QMusic.
During the day Q Music will also be running personalised music career support sessions (MAPS) for young regional performers. During these sessions bands can with meet with a highly experienced music industry professional who will discuss their ideas, experience and plans then draw up a step-by-step, made to measure Music Action Plan. EXPLODE will also host an emerging artist showcase that will profile the Sunshine Coast's best emerging young performers on stage for three days on the 26, 27, 28 July between 10am -2pm. Check out Seraphine, Adrian Herd, Invain and loads more…..
EXPLODE has been funded by Arts Queensland and coordinated by C.A.R.M.A (Cultural and Regional Musicians Association) who are a not-for-profit music association supporting the career development of young musicians and music industry workers on the Sunshine Coast.
C.A.R.M.A operates from artSynC, the Sunshine Coasts arts incubator in Nambour and are currently coordinating the A-Venue, Youth Music Initiative for the Sunshine Coast.
The aim of the A-Venue program is to bridge the gap young people (15 - 25) experience between education, training and employment in the music industry.
