A practical introduction to the planning and design aspects of growing a timber plantation on your property. Learn about species selection, timber products, weed management, infrastructure planning and construction, site preparation, plantation layout and maintenance requirements. The field day will focus on integrating timber plantations into your farm and your lifestyle.
The field day will take place on a cattle and timber farm beside the Mary River. The property integrates beef production, plantation and native forest timber production and revegetation. This field day is a pre-requisite for landholders wishing to take part in the Re-forest.net Incentive Program.
The incentive program is helping landholders to establish and manage timber plantations using best practice planning and management techniques. For more information about the program visit www.re-forest.net or contact Kaara Shaw on 0488 080 566.
