Immerse yourself in sensation at FESTURI 2006 from August 25-27, with delectable international food, stunning dancing, brilliant performance and vivid international costume and parade.
FESTURI 2006 is an exhilarating combination of cultural expression and fun. A vibrant spectacle, FESTURI provides increased exposure to and appreciation of nationalities beyond our own.
Over 700 performers from all over south east Queensland will showcase their talents originating from countries such as; Brazil, Ethiopia, Bosnia, Greece, Germany, Hawaii, Mongolia, Samoa, Spain, China, Latvia, Indigenous Australia, Ireland, Poland and New Zealand.
From the stylish Friday evening launch to the relaxed Saturday afternoon family event at Kings Beach, to the exciting Latin Dance evening to the final Sunday event of food, music, dance, song and the Grand Parade of International Dress, FESTURI 2006 caters for everyone.
Come to the entertaining, intriguing and inspirational Storytelling Tent which is a feature of the Sunday celebration for the first time. Come and join in the celebration of our cultural diversity!

Official FESTURI Launch Art Exhibition
First Time Partnership FESTURI and Creative Noosa
Date/Time: Friday August 25, 2006 at 7:00pm
Venue: Cooroy Butter Factory
For the very first year, FESTURI is partnering with Creative Noosa to stage the Official Launch of FESTURI 2006 at the Cooroy Butter Factory as an Art Exhibition.
Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Chris Cummins will Officially Launch FESTURI 2006 and Senator Andrew Bartlett and Mayor. Joe Natoli will be guest speakers.
Members of Parliament, local government councillors, festival partner executives and leading members of local multicultural groups, FESTURI members and members of the public will all attend the evening. Everyone is invited to join in this event marking the grand opening of FESTURI 2006.
Cultures of Asia

Venue: Kings Beach Amphitheatre
Dynamic, entertaining and colourful, the Cultures of South East Asia event will feature music, song and dance staged at the beautiful Kings Beach Amphitheatre. An afternoon featuring performance from South East Asia to entertain, enlighten and delight visitors.
Dance To A Different Beat

Venue: Lake Kawana Community Centre, Sportmans Parade, Bokarina
Experience authentic smooth Latin music by Brisbane based Latin dance band "Le Gran Salsa" and popular Latin DJ Marcus.
An introductory Latin Dance Class will happen from 7.30-8.30pm with Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy as well as four exciting Latin Dance Shows during the evening. This is an adult only event and a licensed bar and light café are available.
Great Multicultural Celebration

Venue: University of the Sunshine Coast
Sunday's program involves stunning international performance, music, food, cultural displays, entertainment, art, craft and workshops at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Live vocal and musical performances keep crowds entertained until the sun goes down.
A Storytelling Tent will feature traditional and personal stories, myths and legends from other cultures as well as much more. Children will be entertained and enjoy participating in the "Family Activities Area" which will feature craft, art and multicultural games.
Debates on issues of multiculturalism in Australia will be discussed at the Multicultural Speakers Forum. Showcasing colourful displays from many cultures, the Grand Parade of Nations presents visitors a vibrant spectacle of jubilation.
