FESTURI 2007 will open its doors to Sunshine Coast on the 17th of August with "The Light of the Sunset", an art exhibition hosting Redouane Bernaz, an ethnic mixed media artist from Morocco, alongside local artist's cultural expressions.

On August 24th (Lake Kawana Community Centre), FESTURI 2007 will mesmerise us with a World Concert. Sunshine Coast will enjoy the exhilarating music performance of Tulca mor, one of Australia's top Irish bands - collaborates with award-winning singer Jenny Fitzgibbon - to present traditional Irish music at its best, and SARS, a fiery flamenco-tango-jazz ensemble; SARS' interpretations of the rich harmonies of Argentine tango, the wild improvisations of gypsy jazz and the fire and grace of flamenco.

Moving on to August 25th, FESTURI 2007 is proud of presenting a Brazilian feast of cultural expression with Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy floorshow & Capoeira Demonstration with Zambiacongo Capoeira. Rio Rhythmics strives to maintain dance styles' cultural authenticity

A week of excitement culminating with The Great Celebration on Sunday 26th at the University of the Sunshine Coast where performers from all over south east Queensland will showcase their talents, originating from countries such as; Brazil, India, Greece, Germany, USA, Mongolia, Samoa, Spain, China, Indigenous Australia, Ireland, Thailand, New Zealand and and many more. We invite you to come along and feast your senses, embark on a gastronomic journey savouring a vast range of international food.

From the exotic Friday evening concert to the hotter than ever Saturday evening Latin experience to the final Sunday event of food, music, dance, song and the Grand Parade of International costumes, FESTURI 2007 is promising to be the best ever!

FESTURI 2007 will be launched at "The Light of the Sunset" a stunning visual art exhibition showcasing Sunshine Coast cross-cultural artists alongside international Moroccan based artist Redouane Bernaz.

Everyone is invited to join in this event marking the grand opening of FESTURI 2007.


World Concert

The World Concert will mesmerize you with the exhilarating performances of two of Australia's most renowned world music groups.  Tulca mòr, one of Australia's top Irish bands collaborates with award-winning singer Jenny Fitzgibbon to present traditional Irish music at its best.   SARS is a fiery flamenco-tango-jazz ensemble.

Why not dance the night away to the sensual rhythms of Latin America?
An introductory Latin Dance Class will happen from 7.30-8.30pm with Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy followed by an exciting Latin Dance Show and Capoeira demonstration with Zambiacongo Capoeira. This is an adult only event and a licensed bar is available. Social dancing until midnight.


Great Multicultural Celebration

Sunday's program involves stunning international performances, music, food, cultural displays, entertainment, art, craft and workshops at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Live vocal and musical performances will keep crowds entertained until the sun goes down.

Zoom into Multiculturalism Photographic Exhibition (Free, All day): The Australian world viewed through the eyes of culturally diverse women dwelling on the Sunshine Coast.

Traditional Chinese Art Exhibition (Free, All day): A Collection of Stone Rubbings from Ancient China.

International Food Feast (All day): Embark on a gastronomic journey savouring a vast range of international food.

Cultural Market Place (All day): Selling and displaying artefacts and cultural items from around the world.
