Noosa's Creative Careers - Music Mentoring Project will present a final showcase performance of original music at Alfresco in Eumundi Road, Doonan on Saturday, June 25th between 10am - 2pm as part of the Noosa Longweekend festival.

Creative Noosa Manager Bernice Childs said today the pilot project has gone considerably well and the programme has identified some great young local talent.

The Alfresco performance concludes a ten-week introduction to the professional music industry, covering original song writing performed and recorded, DJ mastery, multi-media, journalism, photography and vocal performance craft.

Professionals in the industry have mentored young people between the age of 12 and 25 and the final week of the programme will be dedicated to a showcase performance by participants of their original song recordings.

Project manager Vanessa Doolan says "mentors have shown great commitment to the young people and some have taken a few promising participants under their wings to continue fine-tuning their skills to step into the professional world.  This is a great achievement and we at Creative Noosa look forward to receiving further feedback from mentors, participants and their parents."
