PREMIER ANNOUNCES FRASER COAST COMMUNITY CABINET
The Bligh Government's next Community Cabinet will be on the Fraser Coast in late June, Premier Anna Bligh told State Parliament this morning.
"Today I can announce that our next Community Cabinet will be held on the Fraser Coast at the end of this month on Sunday 29 June and Monday 30 June," said Ms Bligh.
"Cabinet will meet in Hervey Bay and deputations will be taken in Maryborough and Hervey Bay. This will be the seventh Community Cabinet since I became Premier.
"These gatherings are about Government being accessible to everyday Queenslanders.
"They are about giving me and my Ministers an opportunity to hear first-hand what issues are important to local communities.
"I am very much looking forward to meeting local residents and community groups.
"We will be there to listen, and everyone is welcome to come and meet us."
Member for Hervey Bay, Minister for Sustainability, Climate Change and Innovation, Andrew McNamara welcomed the Premier's Community Cabinet news.
"This is a great opportunity for the Fraser Coast region to meet with the Premier, Ministers and department heads and let them know first-hand issues of concern.
"It also means we can showcase to the Government's key decision makers our successes. I urge local residents to take up this special opportunity," he said.
