Free Art Workshops to celebrate Australia Day
 
Children, young people and families are invited to take part in FREE CREATIVE WORKSHOPS leading up to Australia Day. The workshops are a fun way to get involved in celebrating our community and environment.
 
Working with local artist Moto Niwa, participants will decorate and create unique and colourful "Fred Flinstone" like boats that will be used as processional pieces in the Wet & Dry River Regatta at this year's Australia Day event.
 
Morning (10am-1pm) and Afternoon (2pm-5pm) workshops will be held at the Riverstage on Gympie Terrace at Noosaville on Monday 15th & 22nd and Tuesday 16th & 23rd of January.  For more information and bookings please contact Creative Noosa 5472 0222.
 
Australia Day Celebrations will be held at the Riverstage on the 26th January. Starting at 7am with a BBQ breakfast the day will also include performances, buskers, face painting and much more - bring a rug and join in the fun!
 
Creative Workshops to make 'Fred Flintstone' style boats for Noosa's Australia Day parade...
 
Children, young people and families are invited to take part in FREE Creative Workshops being held mid January on the Noosaville foreshore, in the lead up to Australia Day.  
 
Working with local artist Moto Niwa, participants will decorate and create unique and colourful 'Fred Flintstone' like boats, that will be used as processional pieces in the Wet and Dry River Regatta at Noosa Shire's Australia Day celebrations on January 26th.
 
Dates for the workshops will be Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th, Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd of January.  Two workshops will be staged each day, a morning one between 10.00 to 1.00 and an afternoon session between 2.00 and 5.00.  The venue will be the River Stage in the Noosaville Lions Park on Gympie Terrace and bookings are being handled by Council's Creative Noosa unit on 5472 0222.
 
Organiser Katie Edmiston says the workshops should be a fun way to get involved in celebrating our community and environment in the lead up to Australia Day.  Noosa's celebrations will be held at the Riverstage from 7.00 starting with a barbecue breakfast.  In addition to Awards and citizenship ceremonies, activities will include performances, buskers and face painting.
