Sunshine Coast Council invites the community to join in the free Australia Day celebrations at Noosa Regional Gallery on Saturday 26 January 2013 and celebrate the Australian landscape with two breathtaking exhibitions.

Landscapes Far and Wide

John Morrison’s landscapes are inspired by Harry Redford’s outback country. They are a road map to the special landscape that are part of Harry Redford’s extraordinary adventure traversing four states from the New South Wales tablelands deep into the Northern Territory.

They are also part of the colourful story of how the vast magnificent landscape of Australia was changed by the relentless advances of the frontier of civilization, from the earliest movements away from the first settlement around Sydney Cove and the Hawkesbury in the early 1800’s until the Commonwealth of Australia was declared in 1901.

Artesian Country

An exhibition that brings to life the stories, places and people of Central Western Queensland. 12 artists from the Barcaldine, Aramac and Jericho regions reveal the rich diversity of life and land in Artesian country which are captured in paintings, photography, sculpture and spoken word.
