Learn about native plants that provide flavoursome food sources
and other uses.
For centuries ‘bushfood’ plants have been an integral part of our Indigenous people's staple diet and culture. Today these native foods are being ‘rediscovered’ by contemporary Australians and used in ways as varied as our multi-cultured backgrounds. Our Indigenous foods, while sometimes reminiscent of ‘western’ foods, have their own individual characteristics. We need to accept and value them for the unique flavours they give us. By fusing them into our own diets we may indeed develop a truly Australian cuisine.
Hear Graeme White from Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery talk about these plants and how to grow them. Graeme shares his extensive knowledge to explore the timeless potential of our unique wild food flavours and bushfoods which have sustained Traditional Custodians for thousands of years.
