GET THAT JOB: THREE COAST BUSINESS SHOW YOU HOW
It is a competitive job market out there. How do you set yourself apart from the pack and secure that job?
Three Sunshine Coast businesses -- Maroochy RSL, New Staff Solutions and Styling You - recognise that it is difficult for those in the job market to remain motivated.
So they have banded together to offer a FREE workshop for jobseekers looking for a competitive job-search edge.
The workshop, to be held, on Wednesday November 11 from 9.30-11am, at the Maroochy RSL, will focus on the three steps required to get you the best possible chance of getting a job.
Step 1: Get the interview
Step 2: Make the interview count
Step 3: Present the complete package
New Staff Solutions director Peta Simpson said that often people did not get to Step 1.
"With the right tools and the means to create a resume and application with impact, jobseekers can stand out -- in a good way," said Peta.
Preparing for the interview is essential, according to Maroochy RSL's human resources manager Kym Nunan-Squier.
"Use the internet and research exactly what makes the company tick," said Kym.
Styling You's Nikki Parkinson said that the first impressions in a job interview were most crucial.
"In seven seconds the interviewer has summed you up. Make sure your look is perfectly polished but still give them a glimpse of your personality," said Nikki.
The Get That Job FREE workshop will be held at the Maroochy RSL on Wednesday, November 11 from 9.30-11am. Bookings are essential. Register online at www.maroochyrsl.com.au or phone 5443 2211.
