Noosa Regional Gallery celebrates the 2006 Australia-Japan Year of Exchange, with over 90 pieces of superb Japanese art and craft in the exhibition Handcrafted Form, traditions and techniques.
The exhibition introduces examples of traditional arts and crafts such as ceramics, dyeing, metalwork, lacquer ware, wood and bamboo work, and papermaking.
Hosted by the Japan Foundation and the Consulate General of Japan, the exhibition opening on Friday May 12th 6pm will be attended by Mr Hajime Nishiyama, Consul General of Japan.
The Mayor of Noosa and members of Noosa Sister Cities, will be in attendance also, further strengthening ties with Noosa and Japan.
Opening entertainment : Violin and Cello performance by Sunrise Duo Peter Eggers and Philippa Knopp
