As part of Safe Work Australia Week 2008, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland are offering free occupational stress risk management workshops.
Stress is a term that is widely used in everyday life and most people have some idea of its meaning. Occupational (or work-related) stress is recognised globally as a major challenge to workers' health, and the health of an organisation.
This workshop aims to provide participants practical guidance and skill development in applying risk management principles to occupational stress. Topics covered include: what indicators to look out for at your workplace with regards to stress risk factors, how to determine if your workplace has a problem with stress, and practical actions your organisation can take to manage the risk of injury arising from workplace stressors.
