Council celebrates organic recycling in May
Council is hosting a series of free workshops across the Coast to raise organic recycling awareness and to offer support to residents who are already actively composting or worm farming.
During May, in recognition of International Composting Week, council will hold three workshops across the Coast. One compost bin and one worm farm, complete with worms, will be given away at each session.

Over 50% of the average household waste bin could be recycled through a worm farm or compost bin, which is big news when translated into greenhouse gas savings.
The workshops will show residents just how easy it is to set up a worm farm or composting system. Council's waste education officers will give troubleshooting tips and advice on creating an efficient, hassle free system.
These sessions are great for all types of keen recyclers, so whether you're new to the composting game an old hand or maybe struggling with your system, come along, ask questions and maybe win a prize.
Bookings are essential as spaces are limited, please call council's customer service centre on 5475 7272 to secure your place.
