09 March 2007 - Don't miss second instalment of free Friday lake entertainment
 
If you thought Irishman Andy White was inspiring, then don't miss the second instalment of the exciting new lakeside performances this week as part of a free family entertainment program at the Lake Kawana Community Centre.
 
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said Fridays by the Lake is a great initiative providing free entertainment for the local community.
 
"This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to spend quality time together, watching the sun set over the lake while enjoying the talents of some amazing artists."
 
This week, check out Emma Dean and Loren.
 
With his distinctively powerful yet gentle vocals, Loren's style is eclectic and drawn from experiences, culture, community, emotion and an open mind. He has toured the country extensively and performed at the Woodford Folk Festival.
 
Brisbane violinist Emma Dean has an extensive career, performing throughout the east coast and at festivals and corporate events.  Most recently Emma performed alongside five other women in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre production Women in Voice (WiV).
 
Upcoming acts include Dan Parson, David Ross MacDonald from the Waifs, and Roz and the Wayward Gentlemen.
 
Fridays by the Lake is held 6pm - 9pm every Friday in March at the Lake Kawana Community Centre, Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina.
 
The event is BYO food, beverages, family and friends, and a picnic blanket. In the event of rain, the event will be held indoors.

02 March - Fridays by the lake - great family entertainment
 
An exciting line-up of local, national and international acts will take to the outdoor stage at Lake Kawana Community Centre as part of a new family entertainment program.
 
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said Fridays by the Lake is a great initiative providing free entertainment for the local community.
 
"Council's Lake Kawana Community Centre has established itself as an outstanding venue for a broad range of community activities and events," Cr Aldous said.
 
"With its great location and innovative staff the centre continues to push the boundaries of excellence.
 
"This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to spend quality time together, watching the sun set over the lake while enjoying the talents of some amazing artists."
 
The first Fridays by the Lake event will feature Irishman Andy White, Jackie Marshall and The Stress of Leisure on Friday March 2.
 
Andy White has worked with the likes of Peter Gabriel, Sinead O'Connor and Tim Flynn and won awards and acclaim for his music. He travels the world with his acoustic guitar, electric mandolin, fender amp and book of words.
 
Jackie Marshall is an innovative emerging Australian artist, fast making a name for herself for her diverse music which combines folk, country, blues and jazz.
 
Fridays by the Lake will be held from 6pm - 9pm every Friday in March at the Lake Kawana Community Centre, Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina.
 
The event is free and food and drink will be available from the licensed bar and kiosk.
