Sunshine Coast students and supporters plan protest against Morrison's gas cash grab

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25TH school students and supporters on the Sunshine Coast will build an art installation as part of a day of National action demanding PM Morrison rule out giving billions of Covid-19 recovery funds to gas.

The #FundOurFutureNotGas day of action is quickly becoming the most widespread day of action against gas in Australia's history, with hundreds of actions.

The day is being organised by the School Strike 4 Climate network, as well as First Nations communities, unions, and everyday Australians.

Sadie Harlow, Year 7 Student: "Students want Scott Morrison to invest Covid-19 recovery funds into renewable energy, creating thousands of jobs that would also help tackle climate change. Giving billions of taxpayer dollars to the polluting gas industry is clearly an irresponsible use of public funds."

"This year we want to turn an accusatory stare on the federal government, telling them that "we see what you're doing" and  we need them to fund our future, not gas."

"National Covid-19 Coordination Commission is stacked with gas executives. Of course advising Scott Morrison to give billions of taxpayer dollars to their own industry. It's appalling."
