Glass House Mountains visitor information centre celebrates 5th birthday

The Glass House Mountains Visitor Information Van will celebrate its 5th birthday on 28 March.

Located at Matthew Flinders Park on the Steve Irwin Way, the Van offers visitors a wide range of quality, current information about services, facilities, venues and attractions in the hinterland, Caloundra City and across the Sunshine Coast.

Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said the centre is fully staffed by approximately 60 volunteers.

"These dedicated volunteers do a wonderful job helping over 1200 visitors every month and encouraging them to spend more time and money in our beautiful City," Cr Aldous said.

Caloundra City operates a network of five visitor information centres in Caloundra, Kawana, Maleny Hinterland and Glass House.

Divisional Councillor Anna Grosskreutz said the centre's volunteers are an asset to their community and to the region's thriving tourism industry.

The Glass House Visitor Information Van is open seven days a week, from 9am to 4pm, closing only on Christmas Day.
