6 May 2005 Help preserve the Glasshouse Mountains legacy
Caloundra City Council is calling on community members to have their say - via an upcoming workshop - on the cultural heritage planning of the Glasshouse Mountains.
Caloundra City Mayor, Don Aldous, said that community input will prove vital in capturing the character and history of the Glasshouse Mountains area.
Council is conducting the cultural heritage precinct study in consultation with Archaeo Cultural Heritage Services.
"Studies like this one allow us to identify, validate and document areas in the Glasshouse Mountains that reflect the unique heritage of Caloundra City," Cr Aldous said.
"Our cultural heritage is one of our City's most precious assets and we rely on community members to help recognise, protect and enhance it for future generations."
The workshop - which will take place on Wednesday May 25 at the Glasshouse Mountains Neighbourhood Centre - allows participants to attend one of two sessions:
Session 1: 2pm to 5pm.
Session 2: 6pm to 9pm.
For more information or to reserve your spot at the workshop, please contact Carly Jeavons on 5420 8931 during business hours.
