As part of her whirlwind visit from the US, the Sunshine Coast will play host to Helen Irlen later this week. Irlen is the founder and executive director of the Irlen Institute which treats patients suffering from visual-perceptual, reading, attention, and learning disorders at 174 clinics in 44 countries worldwide. Helen has been in Australia attending the Australasian Association of Irlen Consultants’ 2013 Conference in Canberra last week and now finishes her Australian tour on the Sunshine Coast visiting local Irlen Clinic, Irlen Diagnostics in Buderim and addressing frustrated parents looking for answers on literacy at one of her few speaking engagements Australia-wide.
A public forum is being hosted by Peter Freney, President of the Australasian Association of Irlen Consultants, from Irlen Diagnostics in Buderim. Helen Irlen will be sharing her thoughts on using visual-perception treatments to address educational challenges as well as treating physical symptoms, such as migraine, fatigue, eyestrain, brain injury, and depth perception and judgement difficulties when driving or negotiating steps.
Helen will share her top tips for Coast parents of struggling readers at her public forum – some of which can be found in the below media release.
