Discover nature in Go Bush activities Summer 2005

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service's (QPWS) Go Bush Sunshine Coast Summer holiday program provides nature-based activities at Noosa, Mapleton, Glass House Mountains and Bribie Island. QPWS rangers share their knowledge in this exciting program. Join the fun to learn more about the Sunshine Coast's environment - there is something for everyone.

Half-day activities
Mt Tibrogargan circuit walk - grade 3 (moderate)
Hear about amazing history of the Glass House Mountains and identify local plants and animals. This walk leads around the base of Mt Tibrogargan through casuarinas groves, open eucalypt and melaleuca forests. Appreciate this mountain's beauty without climbing it - there are wonderful photo opportunities along the way to capture the mountain. Morning tea provided.
When: Tuesday 10 January 8am - 10am Where: Glass House Mountains National Park - Mt Tibrogargan section
Cost: $12.85 adults, $8.20 children, $34.15 families. A paying adult must accompany children.

Under the canopy walk - grade 1 (easy)
Experience the journey of the rainforest on this 1km walk. Find out why it is warmer inside then out and why the forest really doesn't stay still.  Is sub-tropical rainforest different to other plant communities?
When: Wednesday 18 January 9am - 10am Where: Noosa National Park
Cost: $5.30 adult/child. . A paying adult must accompany children.

Exploring Poverty's Past
Join the park ranger for a guided activity. Find out how Poverty Creek was named and learn about the history of this area with links to traditional Indigenous living, life on a grazing property and today's conservation values.
When: Thursday 19 January 9am - 10am Where: Bribie Island Recreation Area - Poverty Creek day use area
Cost: $5.30 adult/child. A paying adult must accompany children.

Creature features
Wonderful wildlife
Come along and meet a host of marvellous animals. Big and small there will be wildlife galore! This is a great chance to learn about and touch some friendly Aussie animals.
When: Friday 13 January 9.30am - 10.30am Where: Noosa National Park
$5.30 adult/child. A paying adult must accompany children.

Evening activities
Night discovery walk
Do creatures of the night amaze you? A slight rustle in the bushes, flapping of unseen wings and a pair of large glowing eyes staring down at you. Come along and find out some interesting facts about creatures of the night on the easy paced guided spotlight walk. End the night with a cuppa and a chat.
When: Wednesday 11 January 7.15pm - 9.15pm Where: Noosa National Park
When:  Thursday 12 January 7pm - 9pm Where: Mapleton National Park
Cost: $12.85 adults, $8.20 children, $34.15 families. A paying adult must accompany children.

Bush Detectives
Be a bush detective and search for clues from some of the fascinating animals that live right on our doorsteps.
