Great Family Fun, Great Value and Great Music
2004 will see the Noosa Jazz Festival celebrate its thirteenth year and it will be unlucky for anyone who doesn't let it sweep them away.
"Get out in this magnificent weather with your family and friends into a sea of traditional jazz, modern funk and blues with four days of non stop entertainment for all age groups," said the event organiser, Linda Jedynak.
"Most of the 30 participating restaurants offer free entry and you also have the opportunity to witness some of the world's most famous jazz musicians at limited door venues for a fraction of the normal cost," Linda said.
"What's very special about our festival is that it promises great fun and great value for families, for jazz enthusiasts and even for those who just like to enjoy this great time of the year in Noosa, with most door venues ranging from $5 - $20," she said.
"Be astounded by the talents of the 160 attending musicians, not to mention such Australian icons as Julie Anthony, George Golla and Kevin Hunt. And we are lucky enough to be able to celebrate the arrival of 10th Avenue Big Band, all the way from the USA," she said.
"Those of us who like to celebrate in style can dust off tuxedos and gowns and enjoy our 1940s Crown "War Time" Ball with all your favourite songs from the Glenn Miller era at the Sheraton Ballroom featuring 'High Society' with Bev Sheehan, as well as Julie Anthony and George Golla in concert with Kevin Hunt and David Pudney RAAF Big Band - a tribute to all things Swing!", said Linda.
For those who just want to get out and about, Linda highlighted some of the free events including:
