Four Grow Coastal businesses will also be launching their crowdfunding campaigns on the night:
Peter Ansell is the founder of 60@60, an innovative slow cooked meal range with a simple ethos: life is too short to eat bad food. After cooking for celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Robert Redford and cheffing under Heston Blumenthal at the Fat Duck, Peter decided to develop his signature dish - sous vide lamb cooked for sixty hours at sixty degrees - so that it could be enjoyed by everyone in the comfort of their homes in a matter of minutes. After rave reviews at Noosa Farmers' Market, Peter aspires to take his meals nationwide.
Famous for their signature sessionable pale ale 'Larry', Christen McGarry and Matt Hepburn started brewing craft beer three years ago in a tiny shed on the Sunshine Coast. To date, they have brewed more than 30,000 litres of beer and dream of opening a commercial brewery, keeping the Aussie spirit of mateship and good times alive.
Crazy for fresh and crazy for food, Mat Walker is the founder behind meals with a difference. Driven by over two decades in hospitality and a hunger to revolutionise ready-made meals, Mat wants to provide Australians with healthy prepared options using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. Each meal is carefully researched and innovated, providing the best flavour without any of the nasties. Mat aspires to take his meals nationwide and beyond, with retailers and families eagerly awaiting his unique meals across the country.
Scurvy Dog is the drink with bite: a bubbly lime chilli soda set to sizzle your tastebuds. Developed by Linda Tabone using local limes from her farm in Gympie, this unique drink can be enjoyed on its own or with a cheeky shot of your favourite tipple. After too many sell-out afternoons at Eumundi markets and Noosa, Linda's vision is to have Scurvy Dog available across Queensland, enjoyed by chilli lovers and adventure seekers across the state.
Grow Coastal is the Sunshine Coast's first food accelerator, a 12 week program that gives food and beverage entrepreneurs access to industry-specific mentoring, workshops and opportunites to scale up fast. Grow Coastal is an initiative run by the Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast in partnership with the Food Agribusiness Network and is funded by Advance Queensland.
