The Tewantin Neighbourhood Group of the Australian Sewing Guild Inc (Guilded Lilies Sewing Circle) will be meeting on Saturday, 28 June 2008 from 9am to 3pm at the Masonic Hall, cnr of Toolar and Moorindil St, Tewantin. This month, Stephanie, one of our members will instruct the group on Silk Paper Making.
At the July meeting members will be bringing in Christmas decoration ideas and patterns to prepare for Christmas 2008. (Photograph of Christmas Serviettes)
Neighbourhood group meetings are informal get togethers where members bring their sewing machine and learn various aspects of sewing either from other members, or an organised workshop, where a specialist is invited to either demonstrate or instruct members on a specific project, so that a balance between dressmaking and other forms of sewing are covered.
When asked what the members like most about the Guild, the response is always the same: "The sharing of knowledge and skills, the education and creativity each month, together with the wonderful camaraderie and lasting friendships amongst the members.
