Don't miss out on attending the next Gympie First Forum which will focus on Homelessness.
Recently the governor general, Sir Peter Cosgrove, described the problem of poverty in Australia to be “insidious and all-encompassing”.
“It deprives [the poor] of their freedom and assaults their dignity. As a nation we can’t allow it to continue,” he told the launch of Anti-Poverty Week in Sydney.
In a great State like Queensland it is important to ensure everyone has access to safe and affordable housing. The Australian Bureau of Statistics estimates that on any given night there may be as many as 20,000 Queenslanders without a place to call home.
Simone Finch, General Manager, Operations, Housing Services will be our Guest Speaker.
Your attendance will also make a real difference for local people doing it tough with all proceeds from this event being donated to the Gympie Christmas Appeal to provide Christmas Hampers for homeless or low income families.
Please feel free to share this email with others who may be interested in attending this event.
