The nbn™ is heading to Gympie to hold a Queensland mega-information session to provide the local community and businesses with the details they need to take advantage of superfast broadband and phone services.
The day long mega-session will include presentations, a drop in session for local residents and a business specific briefing.
The nbn™ will be joined by retail service providers such as Commander, Optus and Telstra to answer any questions from the local community.
The mega-session is one of many firsts for Gympie, including being announced as a trial site to test the planning, design and construction of Fibre to the Node technology ahead of its nationwide rollout and being one of the first places in Australia that will be able to access Fibre to the Node broadband and phone services.
Fixed Wireless broadband is already available for service in areas around Gympie, with more scheduled to be rolled out. Fibre to the Node technology has been installed in the more densely populated areas and the nbn™ is expected to start offering active services to Gympie early next year.
Resident and businesses are encouraged to attend the mega-session on Wednesday 30th September 2015.

“Residents and businesses are invited to attend this information session to arm themselves with information and learn about how to maximise the opportunities presented by the nbn™.
“This is an opportunity to ask questions about not only the network, but the nbn™ in general and any retail service provider queries.
“The nbn™ network will become critical for health, education, business development and the overall long-term sustainable growth of Gympie.
“It will provide real business and community opportunities, such as working from home, video conferencing, video and music streaming, tele-health and e-health and entertainment on demand.”
