Anger is one of the most painful and destructive of human emotions—both for those experiencing it, and for those on the receiving end of it.
Yet our modern world is becoming increasingly filled with anger and fear because many of us have not learned to recognise why we get angry, or what to do when anger arises.
In this free talk, internationally renowned Buddhist nun Robina Courtin, discusses the nature of anger, investigates whether ’righteous anger’ is ever justified, and presents simple tools to prevent anger from arising. She shows us why learning to deal with anger is an essential component of mental well-being and one of the keys to leading a happier life. At Millwell Rd Community Centre, Maroochydore. No charge.
All welcome! Venerable Robina was ordained in the late 1970’s and has worked continuously for Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche's FPMT. She has also served as editorial director of Wisdom Publications, editor of Mandala Magazine, executive director of the Liberation Prison Project, and as a touring Dharma teacher around the world. Her life and work with prisoners is featured in the documentary films ‘Chasing Buddha’ and ‘Key to Freedom’.
