Biosecurity Queensland is providing opportunities for horse owners to get the latest Hendra virus information, including details to help protect themselves and their animals against the virus.

Queensland Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Rick Symons said an information seminar would be held at Caboolture this week for all community members.

The information session will be held at:

The Gamgee Hall, Caboolture Showgrounds on Thursday 26 July 2012. Horse owners are asked to arrive at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start.

“It is crucial that horse, property owners and the community take advantage of the information on offer," he said.

"Biosecurity Queensland has disseminated a large amount of information to the community about Hendra virus, including how to protect yourself, your horse and your property.

"The seminar is an excellent opportunity for residents to hear the latest Hendra virus information and ask questions."
