The Noosa Historic Hill Climb now known as HISTORIC NOOSA "THE HILL" will be held on the weekend of the 13th and 14th November, at Gyndier Drive Tewantin.
This will be the seventh event organised by the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club and the Historic Racing Car Club (Qld). With profits to local charities and worthy causes.
Popularity for the event continues to grow amongst competitors with some 230 applications received. This year the entry list has been increased from 160 to 180 to accommodate the demand, including from some very impressive cars and drivers.
Cars entered include a genuine Ford GT 40 to be driven by Nations Cup driver Wayne Park. This rare Le Mans winning car from the mid sixties is seldom seen at events in Australia and is a real coup for the Noosa event.
Well know driver from the 70's and 80's Kevin Bartlett will be driving Peter Brock's Bathurst 24 hr winning Monaro. The 7 litre Monaro with the great KB at the wheel should prove to be quite a spectacle up the twisting 1.6 Km Gyndier Drive course.
Noosa Mayor Bob Abbot has been offered a drive in a historic Porsche 911RSR and after watching the event on a number of occasions will find out what it's really like to drive a high performance car on the sealed forest road.
Racing starts at 8.30 each day and spectator entry is $10 per day or $15 for a two-day pass, accompanied children under 14 admitted free (No smoking & No Dogs allowed in the event venue). Parking along Sunrise Road and at Gyndier Drive, Cooroy Road end.
Free shuttle buses will operate to transport spectators.
