Once again the Alexandra Skate Park (Beach Side) will be transformed into a huge day of musical homegrown mayhem on Sunday 15th May from 10.30 am to 6 pm. As a community focused all ages event, the Homegrown Festival has built a credible reputation on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas for providing quality entertainment in a safe environment.

This year the Homegrown festival will be host to one of Australia's biggest emerging rock acts, 'COG', who have been riding a wave of success since signing to the major international label Sony. The band were featured at Big Day Out 2004 and attracted more than 30 000 punters to their stage which had been a first for an unsigned act. The COG tour is supported by a huge entourage of national media including Triple J to promote their debut album 'The New Normal'. This means that on Sunday May 15th the Sunshine Coast's Homegrown Festival will be in the national spotlight and will be sure to attract many visitors from local and surrounding areas.

Homegrown gives local performers a chance for major exposure and the opportunity to play along side some of Australia's well known artists. Homegrown receives great support and funding from community organisations such as Maroochy Shire Council, Lifeline Sunshine Coast and Youth SITE who have collaborated in the past to help make this a successful event. The Festival will also include an awesome sideshow of rides, stalls and skating demo's by professional riders sponsored by Skate Biz while Sea FM's scooter squad will be present throughout the day handing out giveaways and broadcasting live from the event. If you would like more information on the event email homegrownfestivals@hotmail.com or call 54435366.

The Homegrown Festival is open to all ages and is a drug and alcohol free event.

Supported By: Lifeline Sunshine Coast, Youth SITE, The Maroochy Shire Council, Triple J, Sunshine Coast Daily, Moshpit Music, The Grinning Dog Tavern and Sea FM.
