Emma Chapman, inspired by photos of travels in Scandinavia, has recently published The Good Wife which has been sold in the US, Australia, Germany, Italy, France and the Netherlands. ‘I know what my husband would say: that I have too much time on my hands; that I need to keep myself busy. Empty nest syndrome, he tells his friends at the pub, his mother. He’s always said I have a vivid imagination.’
Emma grew up in Manchester, studied English Literature at Edinburgh University, followed by a Master’s in Creative Writing at the University of London. After moving to Western Australia she sent Toby Eady Associates her finished novel. They liked it, and Emma worked on the novel for two more years before it was published by Picador.
