Women Initiating New Directions Organisation (WINDO Inc.) proudly presents the Seconnd International Women’s Week Festival from March 3 to 9 2019 - an explosion of colour, creativity, connection, insight and deep discussion!
The festival celebrates, explores and advances the diversity, contribution and changing landscape of women and girls in the community. Its 2019 theme is ‘When Sleeping Women Wake Mountains Move’. After full houses at the inaugural festival, the program is expanding to include nine events across three regions in seven days. Together, they will feature over 100 speakers, performers and artists exploring positive cultural change towards women and girls through thought leadership and the arts. The program includes a major community leadership conference in Noosa to discuss current issues affecting women and girls in society, a community variety show spectacular in Noosa celebrating women’s talents and stories, plus a series of artistic exhibitions across Noosa, Cooroy, Gympie and Nambour.

'Illuminate' features paintings, sculpture, new media installation and film chosen for their conceptual connection to theme. Each piece is presented in response to the broader subject: 'Contemporary Landscapes of Women Imagined'.
RSVP for an insight into exhibiting artists, in the lead up.
This project is presented in collaboration with Women Initiating New Directions Org WINDO and supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund.
MAR 01 - APR 01.
THIRTEEN Sunshine Coast ceramicists go large for this invitational exhibition run in conjunction with International Women's Day and WINDO and co-curated by Nicci Parry Jones ( PJ Pottery and Design) .
'XX factor' removes typical constraints placed on Hinterland ceramicists by inviting these artists to create works of scale and gusto - each piece measures at least 50cm - 60cm in either direction.
This exhibition shines a light on the extraordinary talent of our region’s women ceramic artists.
We're excited to reveal an insight into their unique passion and creativity.
Official Opening - 3pm Sunday, March 03.
All welcome - free entry - cash bar available.
We'd love to share it with you.
